Eating disorders negatively affect ones weight.The two most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Symptoms include rapid hair loss, coldness, fatigue, exercise addiction, prolonged hunger restriction, loss of period, etc.. These disorders create an unhealthy relationship to food for individuals. This type of mental illness tends to manifest itself into thoughts rather than actions at times, making it hard to know who is suffering. Battling eating disorders is difficult and it’s important to know you are not alone.PLUXE commitment to make sure no(body) is left behind stands to whatever life throws at us. That's why this month we aim to spread awareness about different eating disorders and how you can help support a loved one. We will be going live this month with @presidentniki, a miami based curve sized model, and @paradisefitnesswithcarly, an intern clinician and MSW student, who will be sharing their experience with eating disorders and how you can help loved ones with eating disorders.
Committed to our cause, 10% of our proceedings this month will be donated to the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA). NEDA is the largest nonprofit organization that aims to support and educate those affected by eating disorders. This amazing organization helps to share methods for prevention, treatment, and access to further support. If you or someone you know is struggling, call the NEDA confidential helpline or chat with them online in order to learn, get involved, and help spread awareness.
